READ THIS POST TO SEE MY ONE SECRET TRICK!

Confused bear asking a question

Are you puzzled by the collective stupidity of people who browse the internet?

How can the crooks continue to get responses from people who think they’re writing to a Nigerian Prince trying to give away his fortune? How – for that matter – did people EVER fall for that line?

And WHO is still clicking on those teaser lines that say, “Read this one secret trick to…” ???

I don’t blame the scammers, though. It’s the people who click on these links who are responsible for all the rest of us being harassed by these annoying come-ons.

It reminds me of one of my favourite mantras: “Don’t blame the politician – blame the people who voted for the scumbag.”

And another thing – surely, in this advanced stage of 21st century technology, there HAS to be a better way to vet a web browser than to make us click on images of chimneys, or fire hydrants, or crosswalks, before we are allowed access to a site.

Is there a particular new “wrinkle” in your internet experience that’s driving you crazy? I’d love to hear what it is. Drop me a line or leave a comment here. Just don’t tell me you have a special trick you want to share with me alone (even though “the industry hates this secret!”).
